The purple sticky rice rolls are a MUST. They're massive, perfectly crunchy on the inside, stuffed with pork floss, and I always opt for pickles in it. This with a side of soy milk is all you need for a hearty breakfast. I also tried the beef rolls, which I felt were a little dry but good otherwise. The fried taro cakes are seasoned well but a little oily, which can happen at times. Service was friendly and quick. It's definitely worth the 25-minute drive

Not bad. Went around after lunch for to-go orders. The menu reminded me of taipei but the prices not so much. LOL kidding aside, all the usual suspects were in the menu. Most are traditionally breakfast items. Nice to see fan tuan (rice roll) , you tiao, etc available. Got soy milk to drink and it was lightly sweetened which I like. The rice roll came on two options. Purple and white rice. Tried both and they were okay. Aside from the youtiao, pork floss, and a little bit of pickled veggies inside, I wish it would have had more items in there. It was pretty long though so I was happy about it. Ordered lou rou fan as well. (Minced pork rice). Not bad. It was decently priced at around 11/12 dollars. Came with a couple of veggie side dishes and egg. Tried the daikon cake and the omelette as well. They were just okay. The pancake was a bit too thin for me to justify the price. So maybe I wont't get this next time. Ambiance wise, the place looked like any normal canteen. Once you enter, there's a table that has some pastries, a huge refrigerator that has some uncooked / cooked items. It also has a number of drink choices like milk tea and soy milk. The counter has some baked and fried goodies too. In terms of tipping, which I read in the comments both here and in google. i didn't really mind. For my bill of 50.00, I did tip cash and placed it in the jar. Considering that I ordered to go, they didn't really make a big deal out of it. Also, they had daily specials that would have small discounts for certain side dishes. Yes to the fan tuan, lou rou fan.... Maybe I'll try their pork chop / noodle stuff next time.
